Gmote Server is the PC counterpart to the Android application Gmote client; It is a remote desktop program which enables owners of an Android tablet or phone to control their PC.
The tool allows for remote connections which then allows the Android client to control playback of multimedia such a movies and music.
The application is rather basic and supports typical playback commands you would find on a DVD player or video player. You can also use it to seek through playlists and adjust volume. All that is required is to define the locations of media in the Media Path Selector.
Other settings for Gmote Server can be accessed quickly from the system tray icon including password settings, media paths, shuffle and the help menu.
All in all, Gmote is a pretty primitive remote control application which allows for basic media playback with an Android device.
